How it works
No quotes to chase. No cash at the door.
Most window cleaning runs on scraps of paper and knocking for money. Flow runs on a pane count, a Direct Debit and a text the day before. Here is every step, in the order it happens.
Signing up takes two minutes
Nearly everyone joins Flow at their front door. I canvass street by street, so if I have knocked on yours, you have met me. If I have not reached you yet, join the round online and I will come round.
At the door I:
- Walk round and count your panes. One sealed unit of glass is one pane; a glazed door counts as one.
- Agree your price with you on the spot, for every 4 or 8 weeks, and confirm it in writing. No obligation until you say yes.
- Take your name and a phone number or email, and hand you a leaflet of neighbour vouchers.
Within a few minutes you get a welcome text or email with your price, your first-clean week, a link to set up your Direct Debit and a link to set up your online account, with a one-time code already in it: choose a password and you are in. That is it. Nothing to sign on paper and nothing to pay until the first clean is done.
Your first clean is booked with your street
I schedule new customers by street, not by sign-up date, so your first clean lands in the same week as your neighbours’: “the week of the 22nd” rather than a fixed slot. A dense round means less driving, a lower rate for the street sooner, and a cleaner who actually turns up on the day he said.
The first clean is a restoration clean. Frames, sills and glass that have not been touched for a while need the build-up shifting, which takes two or three times as long, so it may be priced differently from your regular clean. Whatever it is, it is agreed with you up front, before I start. Every clean after that is a maintenance clean at your regular price.
You do not need to be in. If a side gate is locked, leave it open on the day or tell me how to get through.
Every visit after that
- A text the day before. So you can unlock the gate, move the car, or tell me if today is not good.
- Frames, sills and glass, from the ground. A water-fed pole with purified water reaches everything without a ladder touching your house.
- Marked done, paid automatically. When I finish I mark the visit done on my phone. You get a message saying so, your Direct Debit collects a few days later, and you get a receipt with the next date.
- Same cycle, every time. Every 4 or 8 weeks, whichever you chose. You can switch by asking.
- All of it in your online account. Your next date, every visit and receipt, your Direct Debit and a private message thread to me, at flowwindowcleaning.co.uk/account. No app to install: set a password once from the link in your welcome message, then sign in on any device with your e-mail and password (or ask for a one-time sign-in link by e-mail). Add it to your home screen and it behaves like an app.
Paying
Regular customers pay by Direct Debit through GoCardless. You set it up once, from the link in your welcome message or from your online account; it takes about a minute and is covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee. I never see your bank details.
After each clean, the payment is collected automatically for your agreed price, less any discounts you have earned through the neighbourhood rate or neighbour vouchers. Your price stays the same unless we agree a change, and you get a receipt by email every time.
One-off cleans, or a Direct Debit that did not go through, can be paid by card or Apple Pay from your account. I do not take cash at the door, which is why I am never knocking for money.
Rain, frost and wind
Purified water dries without spots, so light rain makes no difference to the result and I carry on. Rain is not what marks windows; it is the minerals in tap water, and there are none left in mine.
If it is heavy enough to stop me, or the poles are icing up, I move that day and text everyone affected with the new date. You are never charged for a visit that did not happen.
Skipping, pausing and leaving
Skip a clean: tell me by the day before and there is nothing to pay for that visit. Your next one stays on the usual cycle.
Pause: going away, building work, a new baby. Say how long and I will pick up again afterwards.
Leave: whenever you like. There is no contract and no notice period; one message, from your account or by text, and the Direct Debit is cancelled. Nothing is collected after your last clean.
Pure water
Why there are no chemicals and no ladders.
The method is not a gimmick; it is why the finish lasts and why nothing touches your house except water and a soft brush.
-
Water with nothing in it
Tap water is filtered until every dissolved mineral is gone. With nothing left to leave behind, the glass dries spot-free on its own, so there is no detergent, no squeegee and no residue for dirt to cling to.
-
Kind to the house and the garden
No ladder feet on the render or the borders, no chemicals running off into the beds, and the frames and sills get washed every time rather than just the glass.
-
A tight round, a small footprint
Grouping visits by street means less driving between jobs. Fewer miles, in an electric van, with zero tailpipe emissions on your street.
Ready?
Join the round.
Leave your address and a way to reach you. I will count your panes, confirm your price before the first clean and book your first-clean week. Bringing a neighbour’s voucher? There is a box for the code.
